Location: OXFORDSHIRE
Stage: CONSTRUCTION
Once a dilapidated barn in South Oxfordshire, we've been working to bring this rural property on the edge of a Conservation Area back to life. Removing the central core of the building and inserting subtle new interventions has changed the way the property is used daily.
Externally care has been taken in repairs with existing or reclaimed materials, such as clay tiles and stone, and new openings punched through solid walls forming light and access are part of a careful strategy to bring order to the previous chaos while retaining local character and vernacular charm.
A common design language unites the building - a blend of calm and restrained palettes and detailing of raw materials as a nod to it's past.
